Greetings, one and all! As you can guess by the
title, the primary thrust of the week revolved around print items.
First off, the sign for our conference appearance has been designed and
ordered. If all goes well, we should have it by the end of the week.
Second, team t-shirts have been designed, refined, and ordered, with
relatively little input from yours truly, so I'm excited to see how they
come out. Lastly, flyers and sign-up sheets have been composed and
designed, though they still await printing.
On Saturday, we had a team staff meeting, of sorts. Ironing out the steps we each would be responsible for over these next few weeks.
Sunday, the stunt team met, and brought the newer members up to speed on other aspects of choreography. This time, with weapons.
Well,
I'm sure there are other things that happened this week, but it was
such a blur, that most of this writing session has been me trying to
remember anything that happened this week. Well, now I'm off to find BTS pictures for the conference.
Until next time!

Designs on the Week
Greetings, one and all! It's good to be in full
swing again. It's been, what, four, five years since our last big
project? While this is nowhere as long as Gatewalkers, there are still a
lot of technical complexities to work through, and a boatload of
casting ahead of us.
By the time you read this, we will likely be out on the hunt for the tools we'll need to craft our stunt blades. Specifically, the safety blades for the high impact scenes. On top of that, our application to appear at a local homeschooling conference has finally cleared, so we will be in talks to get a table banner printed for that. Designs for the banner, as well as team shirts, have kept the rendering system humming for the last few days.
From there, they will work on their precision, synergy, and eventually move on to planning the fight scenes for the first season.
Well, that's about all for this week. Until next time!

Sunday,
the team met again for another session to bring our newest members up
to speed. If all goes very well, we may finally be able to integrate the
generations together in the next week or two.

Yep, it's good to be back...

Blades and Bombs
Greetings, one and all! This week was a productive one. First off,
at least one team member has been scouting for actors, and compiling a
report for further investigation. Secondly, with the blade designs
locked, we went into talks with a source for their construction, as well
as investigating materials, as safety will be a primary concern.
Well, that's about all for now. Until next time!
Thirdly,
after the 2015 LCC entry, a coordinator from the local college
contacted us about collaboration, but there was nothing on the docket,
at that time. We reestablished contact this week, and he's still
interested in the collaboration, though we won't be able to meet until
early March, due to scheduling conflicts. Still, the early offers sound
promising.
Lastly, the Sunday
meet covered a lot of territory, with the newest of the new learning to
roll, while the rest of the team choreographed unarmed fight scenes.
After
that, they joined together for the next phase of storming training:
obstacles. Specifically, explosives. With traps and dummy charges set up
around the location, they had to learn the fine balance of maintaining
momentum, and not blundering into a trap.
All in all, a most productive week.
Well, that's about all for now. Until next time!

First Week's Progress
Greetings, one and all! This week has been productive in a wide
assortment of ways. First, the sponsorship drive went fairly well, with
our first sponsor being added to the list, and the follow-ups being
delivered.
That's about all for this week. Until next time!
Sunday,
a couple new visitors joined the stunt team. After running them through
the basics of stunt work, we ran a building storming scenario or five.
Since we last did this over a year and a half ago, it was a very popular diversion from the norm.
The
props and set dressing breakdown has been completed, and we've finished
the plans for a couple of the more important weapons this season. Now
to find someone who can build stunt blades on a tight budget...
The year has just begun, and so far, so good.
That's about all for this week. Until next time!

Happy New Year!
Greetings, one and all! Well, a new year is upon us, and we've
hit the ground running. Yet another series of breakdowns have been
completed, and the character list has been sent off to the team for
recommendations, while the costumes overview has been sent to another
team member for early development.
On top of that, Thursday marks our first scheduled sponsorship drive, where we approach local businesses about becoming sponsors of our next project, and the work we do with young people. To that end, our goals and offerings have been laid out, and we're working through the details of the finer points.
