Greetings one and all! So this week has swung
back into full activity. We've been pursuing location options for a
swordsmanship class, though it has been challenging, not knowing how
many people we can have until we have a location, but not knowing if we
can afford the location until we have the people. Ah... the joys of
circular paths.
Sunday
the team actually managed to pull off two different events. First, a
dueling session to loosen everyone up, and second, a gun versus knife
choreography session.
All in two hours and five minutes. Not bad...
Lastly,
there has been some work on scripts, with story meetings, script
analysis, and some new writing. Nothing concrete yet, but forward
progress.
Well, that's about all for this week. Until next time!

Post-Holiday Lull
Hello again! What with this last weekend being Easter, and the
week also being Passover, it's been fairly quiet around here. I'm up here on
the hill, pacing in circles, thinking about the next steps, working on
scripts and whatnot. Today will be a little different. It's looking like
it could be a full day of meetings, if all goes as planned. Topics to include:
scripts and the logistics of gigs to fund the next project.
So, not much to report this week, but maybe next time. Until then!

Are You Not Entertained?
That feels appropriate on a number of
levels. First off, the stunt choreography session this week centered
around an arena fight, featuring multiple combatants and a "lion."
Secondly, I've revisited a script from back in 2011, and discovered that I've gotten way too serious these last few scripts. So my faithful editor and I are going over the material to see how we can inject the old spirit of levity and adventure into our work.
Third, despite the fact that little progress has actually been made this week, I am genuinely optimistic. The baby steps taken this week, in so many different things, are slowly turning things toward a promising end, and I look forward to seeing how it all plays out.

Caravan of Choreography
Hmm... let's see... What was the week like...
It's been a long short week, but most of it had nothing to do with our work. Script work has bounced back and forth between variants, but there hasn't been a lot of linear progress.
The stunt team developed another fight for practice. This one, a caravan ambush.
For only the second stuntie driven choreo session, I think a rhythm is starting to develop in their methodology. We'll see how that goes in the weeks to come.
