Stormborn: Days 7 and 8

Greetings, one and all! Well, here we are, in the middle of the hottest week of the year, thus far, with two shoots down, and one to go. In a happy turn of events, we have been able to get two shoots under our belts, after the prospect was looking a bit dubious. But, lo and behold, here we are.
Saturday saw us covering two of the earlier scenes in the series.

Sunday, we blocked out the finale, which we are scheduled to shoot this Friday.

Tuesday saw us pulling most of the few green screen shots we'll need for the series, as well as a brief detour into the middle of the pasture...

A productive week of tying up loose ends, and capturing key scenes.

Well, that's about all for this week. Until next time!

Stormborn: Day 6

Greetings, one and all! By the time you're reading this, I will be in the middle of a reading, or possibly out on a location scout. With our lead having some busy weeks, that allows us to work on these things, so we're taking full advantage of that. In the meantime, let me bring you up to speed on everything that has happened, this week.
First off, the Friday shoot was about the third largest scene we'll be shooting for this season, with a set piece that you may recognize from the proof of concept short about three years ago. This scene featured a knight, a praetor, and a few troopers. Oh, and of course, our lead...

With the tight time constraints of the week and day, we managed to wrap the shoot just in time, getting everyone off to where they needed to be next.
Sunday saw prep for the next few fight scenes, teaching our knight her side of the alley scene, and refining a scene we'd developed two weeks prior.

The rest of this week promises to be mostly prep, but, if all goes well, we should have another shoot done by this time next week.

Well, that's about all for this week. Until next time!

Stormborn: Days 4 and 5

Greetings, one and all! This week has been a combination of a consistent plod, and a breakneck race. Vanishing costume pieces contracted the shoot time of day 4, but we still managed to get everything in the can before one of our actors had to leave for work.

Sunday was a blend of props and armor fabrication, choreography practice, and breaking in the new members.

Day 5 was the shortest of all, as we attempted to squeeze a heart to heart discussion in between the other obligations of our two actors.

The next several weeks are incredibly busy in the real lives of our actors, (unexpectedly, in some cases) so catch 'em as you can shoots will probably be the status quo until August. On the plus side, that will allow us to finish some casting, and hopefully find great locations for some of the scenes.

Well, that's about all for this week. Until next time!

Stormborn: Days 2 and 3

Greetings, one and all! As is tradition, shoots are a whirlwind of preparation that tends to leave at least one house in a state of perpetual mess. It is also something of a tradition to be laying tracks in front of the train as it's moving. This week was no different. However, thanks to our prep last week, we were able to not only prepare for this week's shoots, but actually make some headway into preparing for the weeks ahead.
Friday saw our second shoot, at a county park. The team turned out for a brief, but technically complex, scene that took the better part of the day to finish. Who knew muggings were so intricate?

Sunday saw a re-convening of the team to finalize costumes, and block out other scenes. Not to mention take said costumes out for a spin...

Tuesday saw the finalization of 90% of the ship scenes, with only insert and effects shots left to go.

All in all, a decent rate of completion, with almost a quarter of the total scenes filmed. However, most of the scenes thus far have been short, and in a somewhat controlled environment. When the time comes for the fight scenes, things could get interesting...

Well, that's about all for this week. Until next time!
