The Mad Dash

Greetings, one and all! Well, this week was a mad dash toward the finish line. Specifically, a mad dash to get everything involving paint done before the four day rainstorm hit. Monday saw work continue on the back walls of the ship set, followed by constructing the detail pieces to put on those walls. The remaining days were filled with cutting the access holes for wiring, painting the walls, assembling everything, and stringing the lights.

All of that was interspersed with crafting a new mask for an assassin character, as well as finishing the stunt version of a piece of worn tech for the costume of one of our lead characters. Meanwhile, we worked on more costuming, with the bulk of the new leatherwork being done, further fittings for one actor, and costuming the rest of the stunties for their big fight scene.

On Sunday the team worked through the final practice for both fight scenes, using the actual stunt blades, followed up by dagger choreography practice.

So we come blazing into the new week with everything getting finished just in time. If all goes well, Monday will mark our first actual shoot day this year, and we're certainly looking forward to it.

Well, that's about all for this week. Until next time!
