A Trailer Comes...

Greetings, one and all! So, first off, big news! The Stormborn trailer will be arriving November 6^th, so keep your eyes out!

 

 

This week saw the arrival of our first bit of the Stormborn score. We had our first conference to discuss it, and the musical direction of the first two episodes. The connection held, despite questionable internet, and we managed to make good progress with the hour.

In the days that followed, we worked on the credits sequence for the full length edit. When you have a team that does a little of just about everything, it makes keeping the credits streamlined and non-redundant very… interesting.
After that, we did a lot of the boring stuff that keeps a production moving, but makes readers glaze over. All squeezed between unexpected power outages.

Pages and Parries

Greetings, one and all! So, our big news for the week: We’ve finally updated the website! Ahead of the trailer’s release, we’ve brought the site up to spec, focusing on the arrival of our newest project.

Secondly, at the time of posting, we should be mere hours away from our video conference for the scores for Episodes 1 and 2! Spoilers, I’m writing this the day before it’s posted, so I haven’t actually heard the music yet, but that should be coming tonight, between the writing and publishing of the blog. So anticipation is running high.

Lastly, the team met on Sunday. It was a smaller group, so we did some troubleshooting fight drills, taking advantage of the relative dryness between the rainstorms.

Pre-Release Preparation

 Greetings, one and all! The chief accomplishment of the week has consisted largely of reviewing the Brightsword Productions website, to see how we will need to update it in advance of the series release, and then writing and revising versions of the various pages and page updates. A steep hill to climb, and the work is only just beginning.

Sunday, the team met after a tiring week, and went through some basic dueling choreography, focusing on maintaining and switching momentum within the fight.

Despite general exhaustion, they managed to turn out a pair of quite solid scenes. Hats off to them and their endurance.

Matches and Meetings

Greetings, one and all! At long last, the final edit of the trailer has been locked! That took much longer than I’d expected, but I’m happy to say that the results were worth the effort.
Friday hosted the market and audience meeting, where we all got on the same page regarding our findings on the sort of people who like to watch what we create. It gave us a fairly clear image of what our next steps should be, and what we still don’t know.

Sunday saw us trying to capitalize on the remaining good weather by running through some group maneuvers, followed by sword and shield duels.

There were a couple very intense pairings, with one stuntie even pulling themselves back from the jaws of defeat and putting the match into a tiebreaker round. The newer members were improving quickly as well, so excellent performances all around.
