Greetings, one and all! First thing this blog week was
the first pass at making a Nine Isles trailer. It’s been fun to edit again,
though the process also reminded me that the final audio balance pass still
needs to be done, which usually happens concurrent with the music sync.
Next up, more meetings were had, still more scheduled, as well as plans being
made for a promotional showing event. We also had a viewing of the new Nine
Isles opening, and got feedback on that.
We also did some more work on the new script. It’s an interesting challenge to
preserve the spirit of hope and adventure in your work when real world
pressures are bearing down on you as a writer, but then that’s been the
breeding ground for some of the great works of literature in times past, so I
really can’t complain.
Last up, the team met on Sunday, and Plan A was a no-go, given weather and team
composition, so we went to Plan B…
Yes, it’s the good ol’ storming practice, which is always good fun for the stunties. They’re getting much better at it, especially now that sometimes there may be a “bomb” on a timer in their target location that they need to defuse. Certainly ups the urgency, and helps them not hesitate due to indecision. Toward the end we started mixing things up, with some of the storming stunties getting swapped out with the Oppositional Forces (OpFor), and the former defenders now attacking. All in all, a good exercise.
Well, that’s about all for this week. Until next time!
