Cataloging Collections

Greetings, one and all! Well, this week has basically amounted to a long string of “Found it!” moments. For starters, a team member finally found the kind of elastic we’ll need to hold various armor pieces together, like the articulated plate just below the wrist of the vambraces. On top of that, we’ve finally dug up the right kind of gloves for use as the base of the gauntlets for said armor.
Speaking of digging things up, we began cataloging the weapons, armor, and period style props and set dressing we have access to.

This way we know what we have, and what we’ll need for the next project. We hope to get to the costumes later this week.
We’ve also made steps with the armor. First by crafting paired curved plates to protect the elbows, and later adding a thinner plate to the pauldrons to further protect the upper arm. (Said plates are the red things in the background.)

So we’ve been keeping busy this week, breathing lots of dust from props left unused since 2013. I hope to get a promo short written and shot by the end of the summer, but it remains to be seen what will come of that. Summarizing the feel of this new script is hard with a tight timeframe and budget. Plus, of course, coronavirus restrictions still haunt the state…

Well, that’s about all for this week. Until next time!
