Oops...

So… yeah. With the three day weekend and all the craziness that that (plus four family birthdays) brings, we forgot yesterday was Wednesday. So here we are to make up for it.

The last two weeks have featured such highlights as all the windows in the Solensgate model vanishing at the 11th hour, to a far more successful ADR session. With the materials acquired there, the Byd Echel finale is coming together quite nicely. All that’s left in that regard is for the weather to cooperate long enough for us to finish/fix the green screen and shoot the army sequence.
Extensive audio cleanup has played a major role in the work of the last month, as my understanding of the software has grown, so too has the workload. If I did my job well, you shouldn’t even notice the work.
Well, that’s about all for this week. Until next time!

Episode 8 Update

Hey everyone! Just a quick update to let you all know that the upload process is going slower than normal. For some unknown reason our bandwidth has dropped by over half. Thus an episode that should have been ready for viewing around noon today now has an ETA of somewhere around 4AM PST, on Thursday the 22nd. (Incidentally, the upload began on the 20th.) Needless to say I'll probably be sleeping then, but I hope to have it up on the social media by no later than 8 that morning.

Thank you for your understanding.

Topography

Ah… another week, another update.
The Solensgate animation is proceeding apace, and we’ve discovered that some fascinating things can be done with ice textures.

Three scenes that needed ADR have been completed, with the finale remaining. We have color corrected and refined the sound edit most of the way through Episode 11, so only (*ahem* “only”) two more episodes to go. There were some very involved scenes in Solensgate where we had to squelch the random birdsong that was overwhelming the dialog. The birds are still there, but much quieter. Also, I think we’ve finally figured out how to clean up some of the ambient and handling noise. Tedious, but very rewarding.
The stunt team has also been broadening their study, including free-form sparring, to glean more practical tactics for their choreography. The 2 on 1 fights were particularly educational.

Well, that’s about all for this week. Until next time!
