Ending a Year

Well, ladies and gents, we're fast approaching the new year. Sadly, there are no pictures this week, but we've been busy, nonetheless.

There are two big points for the week. One, to prove to prospective supporters that we actually have a plan, we've begun an extensive breakdown of not only the project, but its aims under various budgets, and our longer-term goals. Secondly, we received the paperwork for a booth at a local homeschool conference, so we're working on a banner design for that. Beyond those two items, we have a melange of other tasks in process. Including investigating offers, and fine-tuning the literature for our face to face meets and promotions.

Well, that's about all for this year. Until next time!

Merry Christmas to All!

Greetings, one and all! Ordinarily, I'd have some sort of seasonal cop-out message here, so we could have a chance to regroup over the holidays, but that's not the case this time.
First off, we're into pre-production on our next project, which means a lot of planning, and paperwork. Oh yes, and fundraising. Quite a bit of that. The script has been finished, and shuttled off to the team for casting ideas, and thoughts on a decent title.

Also, come Sunday, the team met for the annual Christmas party, and our new team members joined in the fine tradition of our group. This year, our leads played cadets in an interstellar navy, just as war breaks out...

They responded to the surprises thrown at them quite well, and lined up a major victory at the end.

Well, that's about all for now. Merry Christmas, and we'll see you next time!

Closing Out the Year

Greetings, one and all! Well, this time of year is chaotic, as we all know. This week has proceeded much like the last, but with a few steps closer to our goals. Scripts are nearing completion, and stunties are gaining skills.
This Sunday had a focus on taking hits for the camera, but we also broke up into groups, to choreograph fights, using the skills the new stunties had learned these last few weeks.

Both were quite entertaining.

Barring extensive script reviews, with two versions down this week, the bulk of our work has been in preparation for the holidays, and our property for the winter ahead.

Well, that's about all for this week. Until next time!

Busy Season

Greetings, one and all! Well, this week was kind of a blur. It opened with a marketing meeting, whose contents took the better part of the week to unpack. Next up, the newest generation of stunties reviewed this previous weeks lesson then began to learn the fine art of kicking. Naturally, the previous generation decided to join in the fun...

Last, but not least, the latest script version has been reviewed, and now is undergoing final refinements before being sent back for another pass. The shift in the script was quite significant, but has definitely increased the punch of the story, and made the path forward for the next seasons much clearer.

Naturally, this time of year is also made even crazier with all of the family and social events, leading up to Christmas and New Year's. Hopefully we'll be able to keep our heads above water, and make a good start into the new year.

Well, that's about all for now. Until next time!

First Generation Meets the Fourth

Greetings, one and all!  This week was a hum of activity, with Sunday certainly being a highlight.
First off, the newest version of the script is finally out for review, with the first overview receiving positive feedback, and the technical one still pending. Secondly, a new video is up, highlighting the antics behind the scenes of the "RIFT" shoot. The link can be found here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-S3cb7nnZ-k

Thirdly, we have been invited to set up a booth at a local homeschooling conference, so we're pulling things together for that. Fourth, Sunday itself was quite interesting, as two of our first generation stunties returned to assist in training our fourth generation in the fine art of hitting things.

It was also one of our largest training sessions, with fifteen people operating in various capacities.
Last, but not least, today we will be meeting with a new friend and associate of the team, to discuss the marketing and outreach side of our work. Not my shtick, but that's why I'm bringing two people who are far more adept than I.

Well, that's about all for now. Until next time!

The Cycle Begins Anew...

Well, ladies and gentlemen, here we are. The classic beginning of a new project: breaking in a whole new generation of stunties.

Day one was, of course, falling and rolling. Also known as, the fine art of not dying. All in all, the new members did well, and some showed a surprising natural aptitude.

The script is currently into a rewrite of the rewrite, but I think this new version will provide a lot more punch. I may well send two different versions to the reviewers, to get their opinion on the diverging styles.

Well, that's about all for now. Until next time! Have a happy Thanksgiving!

To a New Era

Greetings, one and all! This week has been a broad spread of events, from marketing to minions. First off, we released our humor pitch last week to YouTube, have spent the week updating aspects of the online presence, and by the time you're reading this, will probably be neck deep in yet another strategy session. Not really my field, but fortunately I have help.

In other news, we've invited some new people to try out for the stunt team next weekend, so we went over what we'll be teaching them. Oh, and we helped one of the team members shoot something for a school assignment...

Another script review has led to some heavy eleventh hour revisions, which I hope will make the overall product stronger. Time will tell.

Well, that's about all for this week. Until next time!

Year Two Completed!

Greetings, one and all! We're back from the Downtown Trick or Treat, and, well... we're alive. That's always a good start. Thankfully, our experience from last year allowed us to fine tune the process, so we had a fairly smooth flow of kids and their parents through the shop, actually handing out candy to more in less time. However, some families started about 45 minutes early, so it was a scramble to put the finishing touches on the scene. Fortunately, we'd anticipated they would start a half hour early, so we were mostly ready, anyway.
By the actual start time, the crowds were already thick on the sidewalk, and in the store.

It was different for me, personally, because I was acting full time, instead of being one of the ushers.
The event went well, and even cleanup went surprisingly smoothly. The day wrapped, and we all went home to crash. Now, we rise early to write this blog, and bring you the first pictures from the event. Hope you enjoyed!

Until next time!

A Week From Yesterday

Greetings, one and all! Well, this week has been a scramble. First, we're revamping the website, in preparation for our promotional push. This includes everything from new pages, to new text, and videos.
Second, we finalized some costuming, and worked through the topics of discussion, and character interaction for the 31st event.

Lastly, the webseries script has been completed, and has been sent to our team members, in preparation for the commencement of casting this November.

Well, that's about all for this week. Until next time!

Many Finals

Hello again! This week saw the completion of many things. First, the dialog draft is being turned in for final review. Secondly, not one, but two videos have reached final edit, with another on the way.
In weekly news, more costuming was touched on this week, and an old teammate dropped in for a visit, so the team skirmished beneath a setting sun...

Given both the script and the 2.5 videos, I am very happy with our progress this week. Here's to maintaining this rate of speed going forward.

Well, that's about all for now. Until next time!

Costuming Countdown

Greetings, one and all!
This week kicked off with the review process for our series script. The final plot and pacing draft has finally been locked, so now we're moving on to refining the dialog.
Sunday opened with a team refreshing game of Twisted Ninja (think Twister and Ninja, but with swords,) and finished with our first costuming session for the Downtown event.

We locked down about 60-70% of the looks, and will continue in the next couple weeks, adding elements to help sell the scene, and so the props department has kicked into high gear. I, personally, have been working on armor, and touching up the sci-fi weapons in our arsenal.

Well, that's about all for this week. Until next time

Many First Drafts

Greetings, one and all!
Well, this week was productive. First off, the webseries script has been completed, and its first draft sent off for review. The reviews have since returned, and a second draft has begun.
Secondly, the team met Sunday to work on set dressing for the Downtown event, and also worked on a fight scene, based on one from the aforementioned script.

Lastly, a change in marketing direction has turned what was once material for one video into the core of multiple different ones. Thus, new material is being generated to flesh each one out, in turn. The first draft of the new video was completed this morning, and heavy reworking, in keeping with the new plan, is underway.

Well, that's about all for this week. Until next time!
