Final Revisions

At long last, here we are. The current version of the script has been sent to a wide assortment of team members, both past and present, to get feedback for the final draft. A tentative character and location breakdown has begun, though specific scene breakdowns won't be possible until the script is finally locked down. Costume sketches are in the works, allowing for rough estimates as to materials needed and the costs associated with that.

As this new project has a lot more action, I tasked the stunties with coming up with sword-on-sword duels, as differentiated from the mixed weapons fights we've done before.

Meanwhile my brothers and I continued with teaching our newer members the basic skills of the trade.
If all goes well, there should be many dozens of concept sketches and the meat of a practical elements breakdown by this time next week. We shall see what we shall see...

That's about all for this week. Until next time!

A New Framework

Hello again! This week we are into what could very well be the last major revision of the new script, five iterations away from last time, being either 4h, or a full-on version 5. This thing just got a whole lot more interesting, with the new opening adventure providing new challenges, and bringing all sorts of the characters personal baggage to the fore. I look forward to seeing how this all plays out in front of the camera.

The stunt team met, yet again. This time we had three new team-members going through the 101 class, which is a stretching process for many.

Also, long-standing members are figuring out where they can fit into the rest of the production process, hopefully making us that much more effective on the shoots. All in all a busy and productive week.

That's about all for now. Until next time!

Mid-stride

This week we've reached script version 4c, with a major early alteration in the works. Alongside that, I've also been doodling, trying to get the look and feel of the new world down on paper.

The stunt team also experimented with choreographing a two sided, interlocking fight scene. Quite entertaining to watch.

The team has begun discussing a new method for monetizing our work, taking a page from the world of digital publishing. It makes the actual shoot far more complicated, but with the perk of hopefully building a sustainable model for the future, avoiding the pitfalls of the many projects who rely heavily on crowdfunding for each step of the process. The idea is still in its infancy, but hopefully there is some merit to it.

That's about all for this week. Until next time!

Fragments

This week was a bit broken up, with a major event dropped right in the middle of the blog week. With that, we still got two more revisions of the script completed, and I was finally able to break out of my introverted bubble here and talk with people about our work and goals.
I returned home from a church retreat to get the stunt team kicked into gear. Our knife specialists taught some of the basic plays, and I did what I could with my fried brain to help translate that for my fellow lefties.

All told, a strange week that remained very productive despite it all.

Well, that's all for this week. Until next time!
