Iterations

Greetings one and all! Blogging was a lot easier back in the days when I was sure that I'd be filming the stuff that I was writing. Several terminated scripts later... well, it tends toward more cryptic missives on the blog than I might like. I like to call the sudden changes between scripts "project whiplash." Thus far, I'd like to avoid it for my readers. That said, I will mention that we're currently dabbling in something like urban fantasy, but it's a project that breaks most of the conventions. Only time will tell if it's a good idea, but thus far it's been fun.

As summer draws near, another generation of stunties comes close to finishing their training.

If all goes well, they should have a solid generalist understanding of several combat arts by the end of June. At least, solid enough to look the part on screen.

Well, that's about all for this week. Until next time!

School of Battle

Hello again! This week has featured the development of the new script concept, which shall remain under wraps for the time being, as these things do tend to shift a bit. That said, I am liking how Episode 1 looks.
The team met on Sunday, and we practiced skirmishing for an event later this Summer, followed by the fine art of fighting multiple opponents.

Meanwhile, our props department has been expanding its repertoire of skills, studying resin casting and running some sculpting experiments.
Still a fairly low key week, but productive.

Well, that's about all for this week. Until next time!

Not Much To Say...

This week was pretty much free of any major events. Even though script development is still being pursued, this is easily the quietest week of my filmmaking career. I hope that ends soon, because it's getting a little creepy...

A Clash of Arms

This week covers pretty much the same territory as last, regarding script development. However, there was a unique highlight in the stuntie training this time around. While one can teach swordplay and combat techniques until the day you die, there is little understanding until the student has the chance to put the teaching into practice. To that end, after some drills, the group broke into teams and proceeded to have at each other with padded versions of the weapons they've been learning to use.

Teaching "the walk."

Acting casualties.

Lessons were learned, bruises were made, and blood was shed. All in all, a productive session.

Well, that's about all for this week. Until next time!
