Promo Part 2: Interviews

Greetings one and all! This week the shoots turned toward the interview section of the pitch short, with team members giving their perspective on what we do.

Then they put me in front of the camera for about an hour, to ramble about things, so... that's gonna be fun to edit. This is my first interview-style shoot to edit, so it's going to be a unique challenge for me. We shall see how this goes.

Well, that's about all for this week. Until next time!

Active Interlude

Greetings one and all! This has been a reasonably busy week, though in a quieter and sadly picture-less way.

The footage we have has been edited together, and it awaits the remainder of the project. A key part of which is the interviews. The questions have been formulated, and we should be shooting the bulk of that within the week. Also, our potential composer is experimenting with an original composition for the "Rift" short. We expect the results of that within the next couple weeks.

Well, that's about all for now. Until next time!

One Day Two Universes

Greetings one and all! The blitz shooting day came and went, and we're all still very tired, but despite that, I can say the shoot went quite well. We were only a half hour late by the time all was said and done. Our first shoot was out on a farm, which happened to have some wonderfully rolling hills. Here we shot a quick sci-fi sequence:

Next, after a quick lunch and makeup break, we swapped out costumes and locations, and shot a Chaos Crown bit, with two siblings facing off against some barbarians.

All in all it went fairly well, with even accidents like a broken arrow being turned to good use. Next up, editing, and laying out interview questions for the team. Here goes...

That's about all for this week. Until next time!

Preparing for the Promo

Greetings, one and all! In the fine tradition of our shorts these last few years, the production is ramping up quickly. Once we had the plan locked down, we jumped into costuming, Sunday saw the stash of costumes hauled out to kit out our performers. We're running a couple genres here, which should prove interesting...

Monday was a location scout, but sadly a forgotten SD card meant that there were no pictures from that. Side note, I think this is the third or fourth time that our scout has discovered that a location has either been clear cut or blasted in the few months between first and final scouts. Such is the price of free locations...

Our shoot is slated for early next week, so hopefully we'll have pictures from that for your viewing pleasure.

Well, that's about all for now. Until next time!

Graduation

Greetings one and all! This blog week started off with the final class of Medieval Swordplay 101, which was skirmishing. I was pleased to see that even those who ordinarily struggle in group combat did quite well.

Sunday, we talked through revisions to the short idea, and Monday I wrote out the draft. It is currently out for review. We also realized that a second trailer of sorts would be needed, one that introduces us, our methods, and our aims, as people invest in people, not in projects.

So, that just about brings us up to the present. Storyboarding is proceeding alongside the other work, and I've already burned through over half of the first 50 pages of storyboard on the first five scenes.

Well, that's about all for now. Until next time!
