Training at Spearpoint

Greetings, one and all! So this week we started with building the new tech for this project, specifically an updated CPU to handle the expanded workload.

Next up, the team met and practiced an underdeveloped skill in this stuntie generation: Spears.

Throwing them in the deep end, we had them spar, and many important lessons were learned in a very short time.

Well, that’s about all for this week. Until next time!

The Nine Isles: Week 16

That’s right, we’re back! After a pause to prep for the last phase of shooting, we’ve finally been able to shoot a small string of pickups and cutaways. These are the bits we either didn’t have the time or resources for during the main shoot.
After that, the team met and exercised their much neglected dueling skills…

All in all, the shoots went well, though one did have about two hours of makeup for a half hour of filming, but such is the nature of filmmaking.
As to the duels, they each took a different angle on the assignment, and while they were rough, they looked very good for the short timeframe they had.

Well, that’s about all for this week. Until next time!

Beginning the Final Phase

Greetings, one and all! After grappling with a series of real life obstacles, we’ve finally been able to fully move into the last phase of filming. We have a prologue, as well as a few brief pickups remaining. To that end, we disassembled the tavern set, and replaced the doorway into the old Solensgate set…

That’s a lot of manpower needed, (especially because that doorway is very heavy,) but the team was in fine form, and we got it all together in good time.
Updated tech to deal with the workload of a feature length project is finally on its way, so we’re coming ever closer to post production.

Well, that’s about all for this week. Until next time!

Sets and Shields

Greetings, one and all! After a few rough weeks, we’re finally in gear again. Some tunics have been finished, other costume pieces are mostly there, and we’re starting to prepare the sets for final shoots. Part of this involved tearing down some old set pieces, so we have space to work. After that, we took to a bit of sword and shield training…

As it’s an important skill that’s hard to master, it takes a bit more technical focus than the more intuitive forms. All in all, a good start to things, with more to come.

Well, that’s about all for this week. Until next time!
