Ignition

Greetings, one and all! Well, this week was certainly busy. Our meeting with the college rep went fairly well, though we will have to iron out exactly how we plan on working together. There was a hiccup in some resource acquisitions, but that should be sorted soon.
Sunday, the team met again, and engaged in a group choreo session.

A good refresher, after so many weeks of dueling.

In other news, we have a few people lined up for a reading today! It's been a long time since I've cast total strangers in a project, so this should be fun. However, given the protracted nature of this process, we probably won't be able to tell you the outcome, right away.

Well, that's about all for this week. Until next time!

Alignment

Greetings, one and all! This week has centered around gathering the resources we need to make the next steps. The casting tryouts shortlist has been compiled, and we're reviewing it, to see who we want to contact for the first wave. Materials are being sourced, and a meeting has been scheduled with the representative of a local college, who has expressed interest in collaborating with us.
Also on the docket, reaching out to the groups that showed interest in our work the last time we approached them. Hopefully everything will be in place for a Spring Break casting session.
Then, of course, the team met Sunday, and workshopped the fine art of dying. Appropriate, for a group whose unofficial motto is "Today is a good day to die... again, and again, and again."

We should be beginning choreography for the series proper, very soon.

Well, that's about all for this week. Until next time!

Recovery

Greetings, one and all! As mentioned last week, I'm currently in recovery from the surgery. Due to the nature of such operations, my brain has only returned relatively recently. That said, we've been doing the paperwork, and reaching out to people. Setting the groundwork for when things can return to normal speed.
Sunday, a slightly smaller group met, and ran a very specific kind of choreography drill. The limitations: First, that they only use longswords. Second, their last exercise has to center around a specific stunt, or gimmick.

I think it's safe to say that they all got one of the better workouts from a fight scene, in recent memory.
At last check, the makeup and costuming departments are deep in hashing out the mechanics of certain things, especially some tasteful realism for one fight scene.

Well, that's about all for this week. Until next time!

The Unexpected Week

Greetings one and all! Well, this week, and consequently month, took a bit of an unexpected turn. I had planned to approach more churches, and start the casting process, but things changed to the point where, by the time you are reading this, I will be recovering from some surgery that will delay that by a couple weeks. Unfortunate, as that cuts out half of our final push month, but the alternative would've been to let the problem sit for months, and so we'll take what we can get. I'll likely be doing a lot of paperwork and messaging, laying the groundwork for the moment I can talk to people again.
All that aside, we've still got what happened in production this week. Specifically, Sunday. The team met, as always, and decided to break out of the norm by choreographing a super-villain vs. Super-villain fight, with the caveat being their powers had to be readily replicable with basic animation. What followed was a bonkers skirmish, especially given that one of their powers was teleport swapping.

So, a bit of a diversion from the norm, but you need to shake things up, every so often.
A generous donation pushed us into the zone where we can begin pre-production on the most complicated elements of our upcoming project, even though we still have a long way to go with fundraising.

Well, that's about all for this week. Until next time!
