Concluding the Era

Wow... this has been a very long time in coming. Way back in 2011 we shot our first feature length project, called "Othersight." For those of you who have followed us for a while, you know it's been a rough road, full of obstacles and pitfalls. We've turned out many more projects since then, and our skills have improved dramatically. But now the journey has come to an end, and our first project has been released into the wild. It's surreal, and kinda awkward, as I can now see all the mistakes I made, the choices that should have been different, if I'd been a more experienced leader. Still, for all that, it is a feature made for less than 7k, whose production value surprises people who thought the budget was far greater. It is a grand experiment, and an education for everyone involved. Without it, I never would have been able to coordinate a shoot like Gatewalkers, nor have the amazing team I have today. If you're curious, and want to see how far we've come, you can find it for digital download here.

Now, to the present. With the newer members of the team at about the same level, we can progress more smoothly with the training. This week was sword and shield.

Also, we were able to acquire several bags of costume elements, thanks to our most industrious head of makeup, who is also helping me nail down the look of one of our story universes.

There's a lot going on in the inner workings of development, but nothing that I can actually report on quite yet. (We've had quite enough directional whiplash for one year, thank you very much.) Makes it kinda hard to do an engaging blog, but hopefully that will change soon.

Well, that's about all for this week. Until next time!
