Stormborn: Post-production Week 1

Greetings, one and all! Okay, so I'm probably not gonna continue the above naming convention through the rest of post-production, but it's the most apt summary of the week. It's strange being on this side of the shoot. So much tension and anticipation just... gone. Makes me realize we've been building toward this since basically 2015, even though we didn't know what "this" is. We've basically always been in pre-production for something, ever since 2010. This is probably the first project where I'm actually taking the time to finish, before starting the next thing. (But we'll see how long that resolve lasts...)

Anyway, this week saw us wading through the stream of little things inherent in a post-shoot timeframe. Re-organizing and packing costumes, storing materials, and getting the footage prepped for the edit. While the first episode cannot be completed until we've shot the prologue, the footage we do have has been edited together. Here's a teaser image from a color correction test:
Today I will be heading out to capture some clean plates for some composite shots, and then returning to the task of creating the prologue, which is proving to be somewhat challenging. But it's good to take your time, and get those opening moments right.

Well, that's about all for this week. Until next time!
