Greetings, one and all! Well, after a few weeks of
struggle, some major hurdles have finally been passed. First off, at long last
the audio tech has finally been synced, so now we can begin running music
experiments.
Secondly, the second script has finally passed the rough patch, and now things
are getting crazy in the narrative, as everyone’s plots and plans get revealed.
Thus there’s a lot of conflicting motivations, which leads to, well, conflict.
This has the bonus effect of making the scenes much easier to write, as one
thing just kind of flows into the other.
Lastly, the team met again to practice something that gets forgotten when you
choreograph with padded weapons: Maintaining distance.
We had each pairing run a series of short fights, but with the focus on maintaining distance so that their killing blow can have all the power needed to make it look good. So, to remind them, we went back to using the wood swords. All in all, it seems to have worked. The finishers had all the energy one would hope for in a fight scene.
Well, that’s about all for this week. Until next time!
